WRITTEN BY MICHELLE DERRIG & ILLUSTRATED BY NICOLE MACKENZIE
From the Author/Illustrator team that brought you Australia’s best selling body safety picture book ‘Only For Me’, Ten Little Aussies gently promotes cultural awareness and introduces young children to diversity and inclusion.
Counting down from ten to one, beautifully crafted story depicts children from a variety of cultural backgrounds, enjoying classic Aussie childhood experiences. As each scene unfolds, one little Aussie leaves the group until there is just one Aussie left named Jack. He yells ‘Cooee’ and all nine of his mates return, united in friendship.
Whilst TEN LITTLE AUSSIES will be officially launching on March 21st to coincide with HARMONY DAY 2025 - a limited number of copies have been made available for pre-launch purchase. These copies are limited so be quick so your little Aussies doesn't miss out.

Hi Kids,
My name is Jack. Did you know that Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people are the first peoples of Australia; they have been here since the first sunrise. They all belong to their own traditional clan group; tribal communities with their own language, cultural obligations and responsibilities to take care of Country.
Since 1788, people from all over the world have decided to make Australia their home too and we are now made up of people from more than 300 different backgrounds – how amazing is that!
This beautiful mix of people, each with their own different way of living, is what we call DIVERSITY. Because of this diversity you will sometimes meet people that look, dress, eat and speak differently to you. This diversity is something to RESPECT & CELEBRATE and it’s what makes Australia AWESOME!
I really hope enjoy reading Ten Little Aussies!
xx Jack
